Which ferry to Brač?

Four crossings carry almost everyone to the island. Which one suits you depends on where you start, whether the car comes along and where on Brač you are staying. Supetar on the north coast is the main port; Bol with the Zlatni Rat beach sits on the south side, on the far side of the island's central ridge.

Other ways to Brač

With a car: Split–Supetar

The big white Jadrolinija ferries leave Split's city harbour roughly every hour in summer, the first at 05:00, the last just before midnight. A ticket bought online or at the kiosk is valid for any sailing that day but does not hold a place on a particular boat. On summer Saturdays, when the holiday flats change hands, the queue in Split can easily swallow two or three departures.

Coming from the south along the Makarska Riviera? Then Makarska–Sumartin saves you the drive into Split, and on that line the ticket does reserve your sailing.

Without a car: straight to Bol

Most people heading for Zlatni Rat take the catamaran from Split to Bol. Jadrolinija runs it all year (16:30 from Split, in summer back at 06:30 from Bol), and from mid-May to the end of September Krilo Shipping adds daytime sailings for €25. From the Bol pier the beach is within walking distance along the pine-shaded promenade.

Supetar is quicker to reach: the Krilo catamaran takes about 25 minutes. From there it is still a bus or taxi ride across the island to Bol.

Booking for summer 2027

Brač is busiest from late June to the end of August. The state ferries do not need advance booking for foot passengers, and their cars are carried first come, first served on the Supetar line anyway. The catamarans are different: seats are limited and sought-after departures fill up, especially Friday to Sunday.

As of Fri 6 Nov 2026 TP Line's summer catamaran Split–Milna and SNAV's Ancona–Split night ferry (season from 12 April 2027) are already in the Direct Ferries booking system for 2027. Krilo, Krilo Shipping and Jadrolinija usually open the summer season in spring. Our search shows what is bookable on any given day; for later dates it gives the 2026 times as a guide.

Which port on Brač is best for Zlatni Rat?

Bol. The catamaran from Split lands right in the village centre, at the Ante Starčević pier. Arriving in Supetar means crossing the island by bus, taxi or car.
