Privacy policy

Updated:

As of: November 2026

1. Controller

The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website is:

Ingo Kroll
Richard-Wagner-Straße 1a
18055 Rostock
Germany
E-mail: ingo.kroll@googlemail.com

2. Hosting and server logs

The site runs on a shared hosting server in Germany at checkdomain GmbH, Lübeck. When you open a page, the web server automatically records technical data in log files: IP address, date and time, requested URL, HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, referrer and your browser's user agent.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site reliably and securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are normally deleted or anonymised after 7 to 30 days.

3. Google Fonts

The typefaces DM Sans and Source Serif 4 are loaded from Google's servers (Google Ireland Limited or Google LLC). Your browser connects to Google and your IP address is transmitted. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a consistent, readable layout (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). See Google's privacy policy for details.

4. Cookies and tracking

BracFerries sets no tracking or analytics cookies of its own. We use no Google Analytics and no Facebook pixel. The site stores nothing in your browser except what the price alert script needs (see section 8). The companies our links lead to may set their own cookies (sections 6 and 7).

5. Ferry search

When you use the ferry search, our web server sends your search parameters (route, date, number of passengers, vehicle type) server to server to the "Voxmara Ferry Data Hub" (voxmara.com), which is also operated by Ingo Kroll. From there they go to the Direct Ferries Connect API. Your IP address and other personal data are not passed on.

The hub stores anonymised request statistics: route, travel date, vehicle and a device category (bot, mobile or desktop) derived from the user agent. No IP address is stored.

Timetable data for the Jadrolinija lines comes from the operator's published timetable. No data about you is transferred in the process.

6. Affiliate links: Direct Ferries

Booking links lead to Direct Ferries (Direct Ferries Ltd, England and Wales). When you click "Book", your search (route, date, passengers, vehicle) may be submitted to the Direct Ferries booking page by a form, so that the search is already filled in there. Direct Ferries sets its own cookies, for example to attribute a commission. Payment and booking data are processed by Direct Ferries alone; we do not receive them. See the Direct Ferries privacy policy for what happens there.

Links to jadrolinija.hr carry no partner code. Once you are on that site, Jadrolinija's privacy policy applies.

7. Accommodation links: Stay22 and Booking.com

Accommodation offers run through Stay22 (Stay22 Inc., Canada). Stay22 forwards your click to Booking.com or other providers and may set cookies to attribute a commission. See the Stay22 privacy policy. Your browser transmits data only when you click; nothing is sent to Stay22 before that.

8. Price alert

When a date cannot be booked yet, the English and German ferry search offer a price alert. The script for it is loaded from voxmara.com. We process your e-mail address only after you have entered it yourself.

Sign-up uses double opt-in via Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, EU): you receive a confirmation e-mail and are subscribed only once you click its link. We store your e-mail address, the route, the language and the portal. For statistics we count events (such as sign-ups) without any e-mail address or IP address.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every e-mail or by writing to us. Processing carried out before then remains lawful.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time. To exercise a right, write to ingo.kroll@googlemail.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern or the authority in your country of residence.

10. Changes

We update this policy when the site or the law changes. The version published here applies.
