Ancona to Split ferry, and on to Brač

Travelling from Italy, Ancona–Split puts you in Dalmatia in the morning without a day at the wheel. Board in the evening, sleep on the ship, and step off in the Split ferry port just as the Brač boats start their day.

SNAV in 2027

SNAV operates the crossing with a cruise ferry. For 2027 the company gives the season as 12 April to 5 October. The boat leaves Ancona at 19:30 and docks in Split at 07:00 the next morning; in the other direction it leaves Split at 19:30 and arrives in Ancona at 07:30. In the booking system the sailings come roughly three times a week, not daily, so choose your date from the search results rather than counting on a particular weekday.

From the ship to Brač

Arriving at 07:00 leaves you the whole morning. The car ferries to Supetar load in the same city harbour, and in the 2026 summer timetable they left Split at 08:00, 09:00 and 10:30. Disembarking with a car takes a while, so aim for the 09:00 or 10:30 rather than trying to catch the 08:00. On line 631 the ticket is valid for any sailing, no seat is guaranteed, and you may queue; read the Split–Supetar page before you arrive.

On foot, the Krilo catamaran to Supetar left at 08:00 and 10:00 in summer 2026 and takes about 25 minutes. For Bol, the Krilo Shipping boat leaves Split at 09:30 in the peak weeks and at 10:30 early and late in the season; see Split to Bol. All of these times are 2026 patterns; the 2027 timetables for the island boats usually appear in spring.

Without a car in Split

The old town is about 500 m from the harbour, and the main bus station sits right beside the ferry port. If you arrive at 07:00 on foot and the catamaran is not until mid-morning, you have time to walk into town for breakfast. Krilo’s own ticket kiosk on the Gat Sv. Duje pier opens at 06:00, in time for the first catamaran.

Which ship for you?

SNAV is the only operator with a 2027 season we can confirm. Jadrolinija’s line 53 normally sails the same route, but nothing is published beyond the cancellation. If you need a firm plan for a July trip, book SNAV and treat any Jadrolinija sailing that appears as a bonus.
