Supetar is the main port of Brač and the shortest way onto the island from Split. Two different boats make the crossing: the big white car ferry and a fast catamaran for foot passengers. They sail from different berths, cost different amounts and are bought in different places, so it pays to know which is which before you reach the harbour.

Car ferry: Jadrolinija line 631

The state ferries run all year. From October to May there are 12 sailings a day from Split, from June to September 14. The first leaves at 05:00, the last at 23:59; from Supetar the last boat goes at 22:45. A few early and late sailings are dropped on Sundays, public holidays and around Christmas, which the footnotes below list.

Source: official Jadrolinija timetable 631 (PDF), checked Fri 6 Nov 2026. Times can change at short notice. The 2027 timetable has not been published yet. Until then the 2026 times are the best guide – they rarely change much from year to year.

A 631 ticket does not hold a place on a particular sailing. It is valid for one trip on the line up to the date printed on it, and cars board in order of arrival. Jadrolinija recommends being at the port one to two hours early in summer. The queue is longest on summer Saturdays, when holiday flats change hands.

What the crossing costs

The price is the same in both directions and all year. Two adults with a car pay 2 × €6.50 + €26.10 = €39.10. A family of four (two children aged 3–12) with the same car pays €45.50. Children under 3 travel free, and so do pets, though they may not go into the closed saloons.

Child 3–12€3.20
Car up to 5 m length / 2 m height€26.10
Camper / caravan up to 5 m€42.90

Same price in both directions. Children under 3 travel free. Port fees and VAT included. The driver pays the passenger fare on top of the vehicle.

You can buy the ticket on jadrolinija.hr, in the mJadrolinija app or at the harbour kiosk. For a vehicle you need the registration certificate at the time of purchase. Changing your mind costs a 10 % fee, and only within the validity of the ticket. We cannot sell these tickets, so there is no booking button here; the car ferries are not in the Direct Ferries system. Bigger vehicles and the full price list are on our fares page.

Catamaran: Krilo, about 25 minutes

Krilo (Kapetan Luka) runs a passenger-only catamaran between the same two towns. It costs €10.00 one way in every season, takes about 25 minutes and cannot carry cars. Hand luggage up to 10 kg and a suitcase up to 23 kg are included. Be at the quay 15 minutes before departure; the ticket is for one named sailing.

This is the timetable until the end of December 2026. Krilo has not put summer 2027 on sale yet. In summer 2026 the boat made seven trips a day each way, from 06:25 to 18:00 out of Split.

Boarding in Split

The car ferries to Supetar load at berths 20, 23 and 24, and the berth can change from sailing to sailing, so check the board or your ticket. The catamarans leave from other berths (Krilo uses 15 or 16a). Split’s ferry port is spread out, so do not assume the catamaran is next to the car queue. The old town is about 500 m from the harbour, and the main bus station is right next to it. Krilo has its own ticket kiosk on the Gat Sv. Duje pier, open 06:00 to 20:00.

Landing at Split Airport? The shuttle bus to the harbour takes around 30 minutes; our airport page matches landing times to sailings.

Arriving in Supetar

The ferry lands right at the village, so you can walk off with a rucksack and be at a café within minutes. Supetar is on the north coast. Bol and the Zlatni Rat beach are on the south side, across the island’s central ridge, so with a car you still have the mountain road ahead. Without one you need a bus or taxi; we have no official bus timetable, so ask at the port or your accommodation.

If Bol is your goal and you have no car, the catamaran Split–Bol saves the transfer. With a car, see Brač by car or camper, and from the coast further south there is the Makarska–Sumartin ferry.
